The electromagnetic calorimeter in JLab Real Compton Scattering Experiment
نویسندگان
چکیده
A hodoscope calorimeter comprising of 704 lead-glass blocks is described. The calorimeter was constructed for use in the JLab Real Compton Scattering experiment. The detector provides a measurement of the coordinates and the energy of scattered photons in the GeV energy range with resolutions of 5 mm and 6%/ p Eγ [GeV ], respectively. Design features and performance parameters during the experiment are presented.

Initial State Helicity Correlation in Wide Angle Compton Scattering
We propose1 an experiment to measure the initial state helicity correlation asymmetry A LL in Real Compton Scattering (RCS) by scattering longitudinally polarized photons from a longitudinally polarized proton target at the invariant s= 8 (GeV/c)2for three scattering angles, θ γ = 60 ◦, 90◦ and 136◦. This experiment could potentially run with the b1 experiment (PR12-13-011) to make use of the v...
متن کاملReal Compton Scattering from the Proton
Real Compton Scattering (RCS) in the hard scattering limit is a powerful probe of the short-distance structure of the nucleon. It is a natural complement to other hard exclusive reactions that are currently being pursued at Jefferson Laboratory (JLab) and elsewhere, such as high Q elastic form factors, hard pion electroproduction and photoproduction, and Virtual Compton Scattering (VCS), and De...
متن کامل( A New Proposal to Jefferson Lab PAC 34 ) Measurement of the Neutron Electromagnetic Form Factor Ratio
We propose a measurement of the electromagnetic form factor ratio of the neutron, GE /G n M, at high four–momentum transfer values of Q 2 = 5.0, 6.8, and 10.2 GeV2 in double polarized semi-exclusive 3 −→ He(~e,e′n)pp scattering in quasi–elastic kinematics by measuring the transverse asymmetry, A⊥, of the cross section. This quantity can then be used to quickly extract the electric form factor, ...

Soltan Institute for Nuclear Studies, Warsaw, Poland LPT, Université Paris-Sud, 91405, Orsay, France We analyse deeply-virtual Compton scattering on a proton target, γP → P γ in the backward region and in the scaling regime. We define the transition distribution amplitudes which describe the proton to photon transition. Model-independent predictions are given to test this description, for curre...
متن کاملA Modern View of Wide-angle Exclusive Scattering
The basic theoretical ideas of the handbag mechanism for wide-angle exclusive scattering reactions are discussed and, with regard to the present experimental program carried out at JLab, its application to Compton scattering is reviewed in some detail. Results for other wide-angle reactions such as two-photon annihilations into pairs of hadrons or virtual Compton scattering are presented as well.
